Here you will find images of some of my art and a little information about what inspires me and how I go about my work.
I am interested in people, how we live, what we do and how we feel.
Since childhood I have been drawn to art that depicts people, particularly people within their environment. Many of my paintings I would describe as occupied landscapes, inhabited by figures whose presence may be enigmatic, distant or obscured. My paintings are figurative but not literal; I feel they are sensual.
Inspiration comes to me from observation. I am excited by the unexpected. As a painter I use a variety of media but currently work mainly with oils on canvas, paper or wood.
I have lived in Cornwall for many years. I grew up in Kent and spent periods of a few years living and working in Canada, Scotland and Texas and now also spend time visiting family in Australia. All these experiences and environments have an impact on my art.
